Course Requirements

• Adventure Diver
• Minimum age 15 years old

Wreck penetration-training dives are limited to within the light zone and within 40 metres/130 feet from the surface, vertical and horizontal distance included. If the wreck used for training is located in deep water (over 18 metres/60 feet), the Deep Diver rating is recommended as a prerequisite for the Wreck Diver program.

Wreck diving, come seek the adventure!

If you ask divers why they first became interested in diving, most will respond “to see and dive on wrecks”. Tales of mysteries beneath the sea inevitably arouse curiosity and interest.

Wreck diving, or any overhead environment, requires special knowledge and techniques that are best acquired and practised under the expert guidance and tuition of an experienced In2scuba Wreck Diving instructor.

We run this course at inland sites like Stoney Cove and in the Channel from Brighton, which is covered in wrecks from 20 to 40 metres.

Also, we run Wreck Diving courses during our UK Dive trips (Scylla and James Eagan Layne in Cornwall) and during our Red Sea trips, where you will be in wreck heaven!

Topics you will cover:

• The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving
• The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels
• Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures

How can I continue my adventure?
Your Adventures in Diving Wreck Adventure Dive may count towards this Specialty certification at the instructors discretion. This Specialty certification also counts as one of five Specialty certifications required for your Master Scuba Diver certification.
